The Cathy Sharp Dance Ensemble is an international group comprising six dancers from Switzerland, Italy, France, Belgium and Japan. Festival opens at 6 pm on Friday and ends at 5 pm on Saturday Nelsonville's Historic Public Square Nelsonville, OH 45764 This is Ohio’s only cook-off officially sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) and offers $10,000 in cash prizes, with an opportunity for winners in various categories to represent the state at other KCBS contests. Entries are judged in chicken, ribs, pork, and brisket categories and contestants must enter all four categories to be eligible for grand champion status. A dessert category has been added but does not impact the overall contest. A Community Backyard BBQ Contest, including pork loin, chicken wings and dessert competitions, will take place on Friday evening and is open to the general public. Live music will be provided by the “Route 33” band on Friday evening and there will be a DJ on Saturday. A variety of vendors will be selling food and drinks, including a beer garden that will be available during the weekend, along with activities for the whole family.
