We stayed here With our son and daughter ages 5 and 7 and had a wonderful time. Location is fantastic, close to parks and trails as well as restaurants and amenities. The caboose itself is clean, updated, and so charming. Looking forward to our next visit soon!!

A Perfect Family Getaway!

Review Posted: May 12    Date of Visit: May
The Caboose was the perfect chance for our family to unplug and unwind while still social distancing. Our kids 2 and 6 absolutely loved the Caboose especially the bunk beds in the Cupola! We loved exploring the property around the caboose and hiking at a nearby park. We are already booking our next tripafter all, the park was closed during our stay so we have to make it back when it is open!

Great place with kids!

The Caboose was such a unique experience. It was very clean, felt homey and the bathroom was surprisingly large. My 3 and 6 year old boys were obsessed with the bunk beds and the overall fact that we were in a caboose, of course. The weather wasn't great for our weekend in March, but the kids didn't care as long as they were in the caboose. The deck with grill/table/chairs and fire pit area was great. There were actually 9 chairs outside so we didn't need the chairs we brought. The owner was really easy to work with and provided all the info we needed to be prepared. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking/eating/drinking supplies but no cook top which we knew and were prepared for. It's a great location, close to Ash Cave which is a perfect hike for little kids... short and no steep drop offs or slippery rocks again with the rain. One concern was that it was close to the street so we could see and hear the few cars and trucks that went by while sitting by the fire. Not close enough that kids would run out there, but it took away from feeling like you're in the middle of the woods, if that's what you're looking for. It wasn't a huge deal but something we noticed. Also if you're a light sleeper bring ear plugs because when the heater kicks on it is very loud. It didn't wake up the kids though. Overall a very cool place and highly recommended for a family get away! My 3 year old never likes to stay away from home, but this time he whined that he wanted to go back to the caboose! They will always remember this vacation! Thanks Brian and Chris!
