Our county is more than 70 percent wooded. Within Vinton County borders are several State Parks, a State Forest, and part of a National Forest. We are home to more than 70 miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and backpacking. Nearby, there are over 300 miles of trails for off-road vehicles, hikers, and horseback riders.

We also have historic covered bridges, quilt barns, and a haunted railroad tunnel. And we promotes travel, tourism and related businesses and events to attract visitors to Vinton County.

Sojo Cider Festival

Sojourners will host the free Festival where visitors can view the bicycle-powered apple press made from recycled scrap. There will be hay rides, music, kids games, food and apple cider available. All proceeds benefit the youth development program of Sojourners.

Midnight at Moonville

Location: 71945 Shea Road, McArthur, OH 45651. Midnight at Moonville is a Halloween-themed event featuring regional craft vendors, local cuisine, historical presentations, dramatic storytelling, wagon rides to Moonville Cemetery, and a demonstration of paranormal investigation techniques. well-known local musicians Donna Mogavero, Chris Keesey, and more will perform acoustic music. The Moonville Rail Trail Association will be selling merchandise and collecting donations for their next bridge project.
