6-8pm.
To celebrate the Ohio History Connections Ohio Open Doors Week and National Arts Education Week, Stuarts will be hosting a night of history that is free and open to the public. The Opera House will showcase our history for a free evening of events. This will include historical tours of Stuarts led by Marketing Director Brian Koscho, a special letterpress workshop with Marietta artist Bobby Rosenstock of Just A Jar Design Press, displays of historical artifacts and photos dating from the Opera Houses beginnings in 1879 up through its building and reopening in 1997, and even some video clips from a never before seen tour of Stuarts in the late 1970s before the 1980 fire.
Ohio Open Doors is a statewide effort where building and landmark sponsors open their doors to the public for special tours and programs.
Passed by congress in 2010, House Resolution 275 designates the week beginning with the second Sunday in September as National Arts in Education Week. During this week, the field of arts education joins together in communities across the country to tell the story of the impact of the transformative power of the arts in education.
