12th Annual Little Cities Appalachian Spring set for Nelsonvilles Public Square. Two Little Cities Appalachian Spring Tours are on tap for Thursday, April 24th Half-Day Tour and Friday, April 25th Full-Day Tour. Appalachian Spring events continue on Friday evening, April 25th during Nelsonvilles Final Friday. The opening of the exhibit Coal Town Childhood Growing Up in the Hocking Valley Coalfields is set for 6-9pm in the lobby of Stuarts Opera House. A Coal Town Soup Supper runs in conjunction with the opening. Homemade soups and pies are featured. The exhibit will be on display at Stuarts through mid-June.Outside on Friday evening, a lively Little Cities Childrens Chautauqua Tent Show will be presented at 630 and 8pm on Nelsonvilles Public Square. Tickets are $5 each and are available on-line or can be purchased at Tishs Treasures, Fullbrooks Cafe or Nelsonville Emporium on Public Square in Nelsonville or via the LCBD Council Office in Shawnee. The event will feature live music, jugglers, magic, a ventriloquist, puppets and much more. The seasons celebration will conclude with the 9th Annual Tour De Forest Benefit Bicycle Ride on Saturday, May 3, departing from Stuarts Opera House in Nelsonville. Ride registration and route maps are available at www.tourdeforest.wordpress.com. Proceeds from the ride benefit heritage education provided by the Little Cities of Black Diamond Council and environmental education provided by the Little Cities of the Forest Collaborative.
