Yay or Nay. Ohio became a state in 1803, but not without conflict. Now your turn to witness the fiery, historic debate over whether Ohio should become a state or remain within the Northwest Territory. Visitors will step back in time to a tavern in 1802 and witness this historic debate highlighting Territorial Governor Arthur St. Clairs and Representative Thomas Worthingtons differing plans for Ohios path to statehood. Tour Worthingtons historic mansion and see where the father of Ohio Statehood lived and worked.
This program is presented as part of Ohio Statehood Day. Admission for this special event is offered at no cost. The Debate over Ohio Statehood times are scheduled for 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 am, 1:30 am, 2:30 am and 3:30 am.
Mansion tours will take place every one-half hour beginning at 10:30 am with the last tour departing at 3:00 pm.
