Early visions of Ohio gives us a clear pictureof our state between 1765 and 1865. The Curator, Mr. Busta-Peck has identified more than 3,000 images of Ohio from that period by examining 300 collections in 32 states and seven counties. He has a collection of more than 100 objects.

The exhibition will document Ohio as it was perceived on the eve of European settlement and will illustrate how the landscape was transformed during the following century. It will feature the earliest views of Ohio in color, encompassing paintings and prints of Marietta, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Zanesville. A book length catalog will accompany the exhibition.
