Fri 4pm-midnight. Sat 10am-midnight. Sun 10am-4pm. The 16th Annual Ohio Pawpaw Festival will take place September 12-14, 2014. We hope you come to join the crowds of happy folks at scenic Lake Snowden in Albany, Ohio for 3 days of Pawpaw music, food, contests, art, history, education, sustainable living workshops and activities for the kids! Ever heard of the pawpaw fruit... Join pawpaw fanatics from around the country at the peak of the season for a weekend filled with everything pawpaw food, beer, music, art, history, trees, people, and much more. Smell, touch, and taste this wonderful tropical-flavored fruit that has been growing in America for thousands of years and is considered Ohio's first fruit. The pawpaw Asimina triloba is North America's largest native tree fruit. The fruit has a wonderful creamy texture and a tropical flavor. Southern Ohio is home to some of the largest and best tasting wild pawpaw patches on the planet. The pawpaw is also super nutritious and historically significant. Come wander the hills and discover why George Washington's favorite dessert was chilled pawpaw. Admission is $10.00/one-day pass $20.00 /weekend pass children 12 under free. NO DOG PARK this year dogs are still welcome within the camping areas. Free Shuttles Parking Options. Parking and shuttle arrangements have changed. Please take the free shuttles from Athens and Albany if at all possible this is especially critical on Saturday. Shuttles-Hocking College is providing FREE shuttle service from: Athens at Ohio University's Baker Center upper level on Park Place and at the Athens Community Center on E. State St. and at the field across from the Marathon gas station on Washington Rd. in Albany. Free parking in Albany and the shuttles from there are on Saturday only. From Athens-Departs Baker Center at 10 minutes before the hour starting at 3:50 pm on Fri.,9:50 am on Sat. Sun. Departs Athens Community Center every hour starting at 4 pm on Fri.,10 am on Sat. Sun. Returns to Athens every hour starting at 4:30 pm on Fri.,10:30 am on Sat. Sun. Saturday only: an additional bus will be running every half hour from Athens, starting at 1:20 pm and running until approximately 8:30 pm. From Albany - SATURDAY ONLY. Continuous shuttles starting at 9:50 am. On Friday Saturday, the last bus will depart the festival at 12:30 am on Sunday, the last bus will depart at 5:30 pm. All times are approximate please allow for traffic and weather. Parking-Because of the parking constraints, on Saturday only, parking will be given to the handicapped, elderly and families with young children. Those camping during the festival also will be allowed access. All other day visitors on Saturday will be directed to the Albany lot where parking is free and the shuttle to the fest will run all day. On Friday and Sunday, parking at Lake Snowden will be open to all visitors. Motorcycles may park on the festival grounds all weekend.
