Native Medicinal Plant Walk and Survey

Aug 9, 2015
10am - 12pm.

Explore the woodland and prairie portions of AOA's beautiful conservation Demonstration Site as we walk the property to survey and identify native medicinal plants. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about threatened species such as American Ginseng, Goldenseal, and Black Cohosh, their preferred habitats, and techniques for growing them on your own property.

AOA has partnered with United Plant Savers, a native medicinal plant conservation non-profit, to help identify and reintroduce threatened medicinal species onsite. AOA's Demonstration Site is a part of the United Plant Savers Botanical Sanctuary Network.

Feel free to pack a sack lunch and stay afterwards to enjoy the peace and serenity of the forest environs.
