10am and 1pm.
Explore the woodland and prairie portions of AOAs beautiful conservation demonstration site in Rockbridge as we walk the property to survey and identify native medicinal plants growing on the site. Led by Erika Galentin, medical herbalist and former Outreach Coordinator for United Plant Savers and Goldenseal Botanical Sanctuary. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about threatened species such as American Ginseng, Goldenseal, and Black Cohoch, their preferred habitats, and techniques for growing them on your own property.
This event will feature two separate walks with lunch in between. Please bring your own sack lunch. You will also have a chance to purchase native medicinal plants from Erika over lunch or after the event. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. The event will take place rain or shine.
